The True Meaning of Friendship

As the holidays begin the Brien McMahon Girls Basketball Team wanted to share with their friends and family what they are thankful for this time of year.   The girls wanted to give back to their community by donating desserts to the DVCC shelter for their feast on Thanksgiving.  Each of the girls on the team also wanted to voice their opinion on what they believe the term “Friendship” means to them.

A friendship has no real definition.  It is where you are compatible with one another and help each other out whenever needed.  A friendship is having a close relationship with friends that know all about you.  It is based on trust and support between one another.  It means believing in someone else and supporting them through happy and sad times.  A friendship is when you are there for someone.  It is a relationship of mutual affection between two or more people in which u can count on.  A Friendship brings out the best in you.  It is a bond between yourself and your friends and it brings great laughs and memories. 

A Friendship means being there for one another through the good and bad times.  It is bond where honesty plays a big role.  A friendship means not giving up on each other and always cheering each other on to do better.  It is when you love each other unconditionally even if you get on each others nerves.  It means to always have time to listen to one another and give helpful advice.  A friend will put you in your place when they see you changing and doing wrong.  They will always look out for you and lead you into the right direction.  

It means defending each other when someone else is talking about you behind your back, even when things get tough.  It doesn't matter how long you have known a person.  A friend is someone who won't give up on you. Someone who supports and understands you.  Someone who wont throw things in your face and is willing to jump off of bridges with you.   A Friendship doesn't always mean you have to talk to the person everyday but knowing you have someone to depend on once in awhile.  A friend is supposed to be your right hand and your go to.  It is someone whom you share your problems with , someone who has a shoulder for you to cry on and someone who is going to make you stronger.  

​A friend is being able to laugh and act silly with someone without having the fear of being judged.  A Friendship means having similar likes and companionship, caring for one another and knowing each other's likes and dislikes.  A friend is someone who you can give and who can also receive constructive criticism.  A friendship is something special.
