Daniel Izquierdo and Isaias Martinez On Friday, September 15th the Boys Varsity Football team traveled to Darien High School to play their second game of the season against the reigning FCIAC and State Champions. Darien proved to be too much for the Senators as the Blue Wave remain undefeated beating McMahon 47-0.
Senior wide receiver and safety Chris Ehlers ( number 85) had been interviewed after the game. we asked him: How do you feel having one game a week compared to other sports having 2-3 games, and with the one opportunity you have, you lose? When asked about only having one game a week, starting receiver and safety said “I feel that it’s harder on the team when we lose since we don’t get as many opportunities, other sports would have a game the next day, this makes it harder to go to states. Football you go 8-2 and you might not come close to making playoffs as other sports you can go 8-8 and go to states.” McMahon Varsity Football's last win was in 2015 against Fairfield Warde for their senior night. They have been on a 13 game losing streak but are heading into week three against Staples looking for a win.
