Sam: Dude I’m so hungry but this food is trash.
Jude: Me too but I have practice after school so I can’t leave.
Sam: Ok so let’s go during lunch, 7th period.
Jude: Ok sounds good
We all know you are skipping school, but where is everyone going? By senior year most students are driving, and besides that, we have gotten tired of the repetitive, insufficient variety of food in the cafeteria. You can only have nachos, sandwiches, salad or the hot lunch so many times before it bores you. Lunch comes around and you have to think “ What’s a place with cheap, fast food that’s near by?” Well I have put together this list, that I hope is helpful for you guys. Don’t forget to tune back in on www.bmhspridetime.com.com where next week I will write an aricle on where to take your valentine for a date.

It seems that these days almost everyone is focused on physical beauty, even I’m guilty of this by writing all about the physical “importances” as of late. Someone’s intelligence, personality, or status should not be perceived by their outward appearance. So where does inner beauty fit in?
We all have inner beauty. However, whether or not we’re aware of or utilize it, it’s up to us. Inner beauty is something that’s profoundly more important than physical. It’s something that you must nurture and cherish, and something that plays a huge role in building up your sense of self-esteem.When you develop your inner beauty, your self-confidence seems to miraculously improve as well!
Here are some strategies that can help you discover and develop your inner beauty:
1. Make an “I Love Me” list. This isn’t a conceited or arrogant thing to do at all, it can be used as a powerful tool to help you discover your inner beauty. Write down all of your good qualities that don’t relate to something physical. Are you genuine? Sincere? Loyal? All these attributes and many others relate to your inner beauty. The process of writing out your strengths gives you actual evidence of your great inner qualities that you might not have even been aware of. When you see all these qualities written out in black and white, you’ll also give your sense of self-esteem a big boost.
2. Surround yourself with those whose inner qualities you admire. Of course, they may also have physical beauty, but the reason you’re drawn to them is because they’re caring, loving, gentle, or otherwise admirable because of their inner qualities. When you surround yourself with these kinds of people, your own inner beauty tends to shine through as well. They may even point out your inner beauty to you. People like this look beyond the outer shell and focus on what’s important inside.
3. Practice cultivating your inner beauty. Most of us know how to take care of our physical beauty: we get our nails and hair done, we stay in shape, buy new clothes, and so on. But taking care of the inside isn’t something we always pay enough attention to. Remember, when you discover and improve your inner beauty, physical beauty follows. Think about a time when you’ve met someone and weren’t attracted to their physical beauty at first glance, but once you got to know them and saw their inner beauty, they became more physically attractive. What can you do to bring out your inner beauty? It’s simple: Be real! Be authentic! Be yourself! Show beautiful qualities like compassion, love, and patience, and practice them daily.
4. Avoid negative people and talk. This is so important; gossip and negative comments about others only breeds more negativity. Instead, focus on the good in people. Rather than saying an off-color comment about someone’s appearance, put a positive spin and focus on a point of his or her inner beauty. Focusing on the positive qualities of others brings out the best in you and helps cultivate and develop your own inner beauty! You’ll also find that you’ll attract people because they enjoy being around you. Attracting loving and caring friends is the icing on the cake!
Your inner beauty is unique to you. Don’t be afraid of it; celebrate and honor it.
Unleash your inner beauty to the world!

The NBA is combined with a lot of talent this year. Many people did not expect these players to be in this category. Everyone expects Lebron James, Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant to be the players with the shine. Someone please give these men a round of applause.
Please tell me that I’m not the only one in this school that is obsessed with High School Musical. Those movies were my childhood. That cast and movie franchise made my childhood amazing. I can’t even believe that it has been 10 years since High School Musical premiered. It feels like it was just yesterday.
On January 20, 2016, Disney Channel hosted a High School Musical reunion. We finally got to see our favorite cast back together again, 10 years later. Sadly Zac Efron, known for his role in the movie Troy Bolton, did not attend the reunion. Many of the fans, including myself, were not very happy with Zac Efron’s absence Wednesday night. Who wouldn’t be angry at Zac Efron for not attending the reunion that we have all been waiting for.
The reason that Efron missed the reunion is because of scheduling conflicts. Some may even say that the reason he didn’t attend the reunion was because he didn’t want to be with his ex girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens. We are not really sure if that could be a reason, but we don’t know for sure. We are mad that he wasn’t there and we just want to blame everything on him.
Zac Efron even made a video for us to see at the reunion and how he was sorry that he couldn’t make it to the reunion. “Hey guys, I’m so sorry that I couldn’t be there in person but I’m with you all in spirit. My favorite scene in the movie has to be ‘We’re All in This Together.’ The unity, the whole cast in that moment was just, really fun. I’ll never forget that day, it’s embedded in my mind as one of the most beautiful days of my entire life.” Those sweet words from Zac actually made me forget for a while that he wasn’t even there.
During the reunion, the cast looked at their old audition tapes and just talked about how big the movies were The cast even stated that they didn’t think that it would be as big as it actually got, impacting all of our lives in so many ways.
High School Musical was part of all of our childhoods. We knew all the songs by heart, we bought all of the merchandise, tried to dance along with them, and of course we all shipped Troy and Gabriella before we even knew what shipping was. To the people who are saying that they didn’t know any of the songs or that they hated High School Musical, why are you lying to yourself? This movie even made children actually want to go into the arts. For some, this was the movie that made them want to start dancing and singing.
Let’s be honest though, we all hate Zac Efron right now because we have been waiting for this reunion for so long and then once it’s here, he doesn’t attend. I know he is busy with his life and career, High School Musical started his whole career. Is he too good now that he can’t even attend the reunion of the movie that put him in the spotlight? Thanks Zac for ruining the reunion that we have been waiting for.
Winter and the upcoming spring season is the perfect time to try the “no-makeup” makeup look (if you haven’t already). It’s all about a fresh faced glow and letting your natural beauty shine through. It also feels lighter on the skin, allowing you to breathe a little easier and worry less about touching up throughout the day. These simple steps are easy and quick to do before you head out the door on your next adventure.
Start by perfecting your skin so that the makeup blends in easily; wash with cleanser and a cloth to gently exfoliate your face. After that, moisturize your face to even out your skin tone. The fastest, most natural way to do this is with a tinted lotion, which should also contain sun protection and because it’s sheer, you don’t have to exactly match it to your skin, as you have to do with foundation. You can even go slightly deeper to warm up your complexion.
Conceal any blemishes with a small concealer brush and the under eye area by patting with your ring finger. Setting with a light powder helps prevent creasing and lasts much longer. Tap off excess on your brush and gently press into the under eye area instead of sweeping the brush. Same goes for setting any blemishes you’ve concealed; press into the skin or else you’ll disturb the concealer you’ve so carefully placed. If needed, apply a light layer of mineral foundation powder on your nose, forehead, chin, or anywhere you tend to get shiny. Bare Minerals original mineral powder is a great organic powder that will keep your makeup from creasing or your skin from getting oily all day.
Create a natural flush on the cheeks. Cream blushes are fantastic for creating a natural appearance. I love the NYX cream blushes, they’re cheap, but are made well enough to be considered a high end product. Gently pat and blend on the apples of your cheeks, making sure the edges are thoroughly blended out. This will last all day and you won’t get a caked on look that can happen with powder blushes.
Eyebrow time! Comb and fill in empty spots in your brows and set with a gel. Resist filling them in too heavily, however make sure they are defined to pull the look together.
Still keeping this look simple, Apply a light neutral eyeshadow to define your crease if you like, but go easy! This look should make people notice your beautiful eyes, not your eye shadow. Matte shadows are typically best, but you do you!
Tightlining is that mysterious eyeliner technique everyone talks about, but few can really explain. It’s used to create the impression of fuller and longer lashes. Use your finger to lift up your eyelid so you can see the base of your lash line. Then fill your brush with eyeliner and press it directly onto the waterline wiggling it back and forth until evenly applied, or simply use a waterproof eyeliner. If you are using a pencil, then definitely pick up the Urban Decay Glide On Eyeliner in Perversion (black), it lasts all day and will never smudge.
Finish the eyes off by curling your lashes and applying a few coats of your favorite mascara!
A trick that not many people know about is exfoliating your lips with an old toothbrush and Vaseline to get rid of nasty dead skin. Not only is it cheap, but it leaves you with the smoothest lips that you may not even get with expensive lip exfoliators.
After you have soft, luscious lips, apply a tinted lip balm or gloss (Burts Bees colored lip balm is the best, so smooth and has a great pigment)!
That’s it! Now let your hair down and let your inner beauty glow through!
2016 has just launched, and it is hard to think of all the exciting releases and projects and events coming up in music with the recent deaths and passings that we have already experienced. Less than a month into the year, we have lost three incredible musicians, and it only seemed right for this article to be dedicated to these deceased icons.
Natalie Cole (May 6, 1950 - December 31, 2015)
Los Angeles native and daughter to Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole had a hard time making her way into the music industry, singing original material across the United States upon graduating University of Massachusetts Amherst. She was booed for not performing her fathers jazz hits, but was picked up in the early 1970s, releasing her debut album, Inseparable, under Capitol Records in 1975 and rising to fame with her song “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love).”
The album and song scored her three Grammy awards and she continued to make music under Capitol, until 1981, when her career went on a downfall due to drug abuse. She was admitted to rehab that same year and came back a weak start, but reclaimed her spot in the industry with her album Everlasting in 1987. Her most memorable moment being Cole re-recording her fathers song Unforgettable, singing it with him at the 1992 Grammy Awards Ceremony. She went on to receive six number one songs on the Billboard R&B singles chart and became a nine-time Grammy winner.
Glenn Frey (November 6, 1948 - January 18, 2016)
The Detroit born rock star began his career alongside Don Henley, when Linda Ronstadt needed a backup band for a performance, and then created legendary rock band, The Eagles. With The Eagles, Frey sold 150+ million records worldwide, earned six number one albums on the Billboard 200 albums chart and earned five number one songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, as well as the group becoming six-time Grammy winners. Frey took a brief break from the group between 1980-1994, where he created three top 40 US solo albums as well as doing multiple shows and acting guest appearances, his most known being Miami Vice in the mid-1980s. He continued his solo projects and music with The Eagles up until his death.
David Bowie (January 8, 1947 - January 10, 2016)
Perhaps the most iconic mainstream artist of our time, gone sooner than anyone expected. Born in south London and raised on its outskirts, Bowie formed his first band in 1962, when he was 15. He later released his self-titled debut album in 1967, giving him no ultimate success until he released his album and title single, Space Oddity, giving him his first UK top 20 album and his first number one on the UK singles chart.
He went on with his career, having multiple different personas (his most iconic being Ziggy Stardust) and creating 26 studio albums, selling 145+ million records, earning him nine number one albums on the UK albums chart and five number one songs in the UK singles chart. During his Ziggy Stardust era, he identified as bisexual and became a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and called out MTV in 1983 about not having enough diversity on the network. While he was also a very successful musician, Bowie was involved with acting, staring in films including August and The Prestige, as well as appearing in the television series Extras.
His career brought him two Grammy awards, and in 2016, he earned his first US number one album on the Billboard 200 albums chart with Blackstar, the album released two days before his death. A particular song on the record, Lazarus, highlights his final days and his inevitable death.
The deaths of these legends is still being mourned today, the music industry grieving and the world in need of their missing presence, hoping we don’t experience any other major deaths anytime soon. Listen to their best below.
Studying. The epitome of our boredom and grades. It’s so easy to become distracted when trying to learn the material needed for a midterm or final exam. Well, according to multiple studies done by universities, it is possible for people to study to music, and here are their findings, as well as other tips that may help you.
The University of Dayton conducted an experiment with 56 students, having them study material for a test with Mozart and other classical music playing in the background. The findings showed accelerated test results increases in both spatial and linguistic testing, suggesting background music can help with cognitive performance.
Another school, Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan conducted another study with 32 students. One group took a test with no music involved at all, another listened before they took the test, and the other had music in the background while taking the test. Those who had the music playing during the test received the best results, those with no music doing the worst, and those with music before taking the test doing close to those who listened to it during the test. It showcased the idea that those who listened to music overall had increased performance levels.
But in all honesty, it truly depends on the individual. Most believe in the “Mozart Effect,” which is the research that suggests listening to Mozart and other classical music improves short-term memory and the performance of certain tasks. From personal experience, I do believe this works as a method of studying, but the idea of listening to new music in general has worked for myself much more than that of classical music. But it really does depend on the type of person you are.
But in most cases, instrumental and classical music that is most of the time unfamiliar has shown to produce the best results. A few good tips include having it on small volume, listening to music before you take the exam, make long lasting playlists, and do not listen to the radio, the dialogue between songs and advertisements will distract you. See the Spotify playlist below.

Another year, another set of new trends. As we welcome the new year ahead, we look back at 2015’s high and lows in fashion. Which trends do we take with us to the next year and which should we retire immediately? With 2016 already here, we round up 2015’s biggest fashion trends: the best, the worst, the ones we proudly “#ootd”, and the ones that stay rotting in the recently deleted folder.
A-line mini skirts. Worn atop bare legs or tights, they’re seasonless and leg-lengthening: a winning combo. Next is ponchos/shawls. Cozy and statement-making with the different patterns, fringe and textures. This lovely staple will definitely be around for years and years to come. Then we have the lovely lace up flat or heel. This elegant and easy paired closet staple is a must have to go with some skinnies and a sweater or just a great dress! The last best trend of 2015 that really became popular this year are athletic inspired outfits. Putting on joggers, sneakers and a mock neck sweatshirt is not only now considered fashionable, but also one of the most comfortable trends ever!
Recently flare jeans have been coming back in style and becoming more and more popular; they are slimming and flattering. The trend of 2015 that doesn’t work is cropped flares, not only making your legs look short and stumpy, but they are almost impossible to style! Keeping up with the jean “trend”, another denim piece that also became big this year; patchwork denim. All it looks like is someone trying to fix a hole in your jeans by cutting up old pairs and gluing it on. Not cute. And we all know how much everyone loves our celebrities that like to show a little skin, but the sheer dresses that were everywhere in 2015, need to stay in 2015. You can still look gorgeous and a little risque without showing literally everything off! Keep them guessing ladies…
Overall, 2015 was an amazing year for fashion. Fashion icons were made and looked up to, so many new styles and fun accessories were reborn as well. Besides a few bad pieces that somehow became a trend, I know 2016 is going to leave that behind.

This week I was searching for the five cutest kid videos and these were my selection. I've chose these specifically due to the fact of how funny they are to watch. I want people to see these videos in hopes that it will brighten and bring laughter into their day.
“The work I've done through my Common Culture music series has enabled me not only to share my joy of music at scale, but also promote the artists I love” says Connor Franta, a Youtube and social media personality, author and co-founder of Heard Well, a music label powered entirely by social tastemakers.
The company is dedicated to providing the ability to discover new music and new artists and gain profit through their artistry by making compilations. The idea is accomplished through the reputation of people with large social media followings, specifically Youtube content creators, known commonly as “Youtubers.”
Its first client and co-founder was Franta, who released his first two compilations “Crown” and “Common Culture, Vol. 2” under Opus Label, with both albums charting on the Billboard 200 album chart. He worked with Opus Label’s owner, Jeremy Wineberg, to help found Heard Well. Wineberg supports compilations from Perez Hilton, Just Jared, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. An additional founder of Heard Well was Franta’s manager, Andrew Graham. Graham works with Big Frame, a talent agency specifically for Youtubers, and manages content creators, including thats0jack, jennxpenn, and Franta. The threesome created the label together, and with Franta’s large following of 3.58 million Twitter followers and 5.2 million Youtube subscribers, there was triumph to come.
Not only has the Los Angeles based label aided the success of artists like Bastille, Charli XCX, and Icona Pop, to name a few, but it's finding its place in the current music industry. Other clients other than Franta creating these compilations include Amanda Steele, JC Caylen, and Anthony “Lohanthony” Quintal. Quintal’s first compilation, “Landscapes,” landed at number 3 on the Billboard Electronic/Dance album chart, with Caylen’s first compilation “Neptones” landing at Number 1 on the same chart. Franta’s company “Common Culture” has compilations under the same name, volumes 3 and 4 charting on Billboard as well. Including Steele’s Spotify reserved compilation “Gateway,” the label has earned 20+ million online streams.
Many media outlets, including Billboard, The Huffington Post, and The Hollywood Reporter, all follow the success of Heard Well and are supporting what is to come of it. Music Alley said the label is the number 6 music/technology start up company to watch for in 2016. Franta, Graham, and Wineberg will be leading a panel about the label at the South by Southwest festival in March later this year.
