Every year the students in the Music Department come up with a prank to do on April Fools Day in the Orchestra room. This year I came into the school wondering what they did this year in Mr. Benson’s room.
My freshman year, the prank was based on the play that year which was Les Mis. In Mr. Benson’s room they did a “Chairicade” with all the chairs in the room. My sophomore year they created a golf course called, “Scotty B’s Mini Golf”. This year the students created “Camp Scotty”.
I talked to two of the students who planned this year’s prank, Bradley Carrano (‘16) and Caroline Jones (‘17) and asked them how they came up with the camp idea, “It was an idea last year,” she continued, “then we went to Walmart and we were like ‘what are we going to do this year?’ And I remember about the camp idea from last year.” So they got the tents and some streamers.
Since the music students play a prank on the music teachers I wondered if the teachers played pranks on the students. Bradley Carrano recollected one of the pranks, “Once, Mr. Benson came in and saw everything and then Mr. Q came in. Mr. Q was very angry and he said who ‘who are the seniors?’” he continued, “so I raised my hand, and he said that he expected more from me. So Mr. Q and Mr. Benson went outside and then they came back and started laughing.”
