Chick-fil-A has been recently approved to open in Norwalk. They will be building it on 467 Connecticut Ave. It is still unknown when they will be starting the project for there are certain requirements they have to meet in order to deal with the traffic the restaurant might cause. “I can’t wait till Chick Fil a opens up I love their food, it is about time they are opening one up in Norwalk.” said Esther Clebert (‘17)
Chick fil a has been one of the most successful fast food restaurants in the United States, since it first opened in May 1946. It has over 1,850 restaurants and are mostly located in the Southeastern side of the U.S.
In June 2012 the president and chief operating officer of Chick-fil-A Dan Cathy, had made a statement about same sex marriage and it became a really big problem. His statement caused many people to go protest and not have Chick-fil-a in their colleges or have them serve their food.
One University that had a petition to have Chick-fil-A banned from their campus was Northeastern University. There was over 11,000 signatures to have Chick-fil-a banned from their campus. “I think he should not have said anything about same sex marriage if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say it at all because people will end up coming after you if it’s rude.” Said Jorge Aguirre.(‘17)
Even with all the controversy, many customers have stayed loyal to Chick-Fil-A. However it’s your decision if you want to eat there or not.
