Spring break is upon us! Just two more weeks of school until we are finally tanning on the beach, sipping a Mango smoothie, and posting tons of vacation pictures to Instagram. However, not all of us are leaving Connecticut, and we have to figure out fun things we can do to occupy our time for the break. BMHS PrideTime understands how hard it is to find pleasure in staying home during the break, so here is a list of possible activities that you can do!
Eat Yummy Food
Eating delicious food can always solve some of our toughest problems. The great thing about Fairfield County is that there are dozens of restaurants to choose from, and are great places for friends or family to socialize with one another. Here are our three favorite restaurants, starting from least expensive to most expensive.
Go For a Hike
The best part about spring is that winter is finally over! However, now we don’t have an excuse to stay inside all throughout the weekend. One of the major benefits of living in New England is that there are several different parks to go hiking that give us a nice breath of fresh air. ACTIVE.com reports that hiking can help improve: Muscle strength, Bone density (or slow its loss), Sleep quality, and weight control. An average hiker can burn up to 250 calories per hour and a reduce risk in stress and anxiety (which is perfect for High School students). Here are some great places to hike in the area
Even if you're not vacationing to the tropics this spring break, hopefully this list gives you an idea about what you can do while not having to leave Connecticut. Maybe staying home isn't that bad after all?
