Get Out is a movie about a black man named Chris,(Daniel Kaluuya), who goes with his girlfriend Rose, (Allison Williams), to visit her family in the New York suburbs. Things soon take an unusual turn once Chris meets Rose's family and observes strange behavior among the few black people in the area. This film turned out to be a hit given that it only cost $5 million to make, and made $33million on its opening weekend in America, gained a highly unusual 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and is trailing widespread critical acclaim in its noisy wake. A lot of critics said great things, coming from a racial point of view to just being a crowd pleaser . Many McMahon students have also been spreading vigorous news about how well the film was made, and that the story behind it would almost make you rethink life. Like one student Rafael Campos who had some great words to say.
Tamia: What did you like about the movie?
Rafael: “Something that I enjoyed about it was that it was always mysterious. For example throughout the whole movie, something that would happen in the beginning would reappear in a new scene.”
Tamia: Who would you say is the main character throughout the film?
Rafael: “The main character that we followed was Chris because it’s seen more as from his perspective.”
Tamia: How does the film portray the events happening now?
Rafael: “The movie shows how racism is still taking place, and how it looks in many ways.”
Tamia: Would you recommend this film to others, and what would you rate it (1 out of 5)?
Rafael: “Definitely this was a good movie that everyone would enjoy. I would rate it a 5, because I actually really liked it. Just for the reason that I never knew what was going to happen next, there was always a surprise coming soon.”
Tamia: Now for people who haven’t seen the movie yet, what is something they should look out for?
Rafael: “Pay attention to the little things, because everything connects to the ending.”
Rafael hopes that people get the same reaction as he did and like it twice as much. If you haven’t got the chance to check out this film here are some showings for tomorrow close near .
