Winger is a book about 14 year old Ryan Dean West, aka Winger, and how he goes through his Junior year in high school. Even though it's been awhile since the author was a prepubescent teen, he captures what it's like for a boy easily with women growth and a lot of other things. But girls are the least of Winger’s problems. Because of an incident from the previous year, he is forced to stay in O-Hall, the building the boarding school places troubled kids. His roommate is the biggest bully in school and on the rugby team.
Andrew is a great writer and captures the life of a teen perfectly. He doesn't just talk about school but the other sex and sports and how much of a toll that is on a person, especially if you're trying to figure out who you are.
Andrew writes the stories in parts. The beginning when Winger first comes to school, then part 1, then a prologue, all the way to part 4.
